I have the same g470 device and many issues

I tested the sdcard on debian using linux-kernel 3 and same issue :

Linux version 3.0.0-1-amd64 (Debian 3.0.0-3) (<email address hidden>) (gcc version 4.5.3 (Debian 4.5.3-8) ) #1 SMP Sat Aug 27 16:21:11 UTC 2011

I fear this is related to BIOS
