I have the same problem (freeze on battery powered) in my new Dell Vostro 3700 i7
I partially solved unchecking, in Power Management, the checkbox that reduce hdd speed when possible.
But now it freeze when battery level is critically low.
I think that this problem is all about Power Managent.
It really make maverick unusable on this laptop
