Bug Description
If I start my Dell Vostro 3700 in 10.10 without Power AC adapter Ubuntu crashes after a shot while (max 2minutes).
Ubuntu does not crash, if WLAN is switched off or is not present.
If I have a connection over LAN it does not crash, too.
It crash, if I use my SmartPhone as modem.
This does not happen with a 10.04.1 Live CD.
It does not crash in Windows.
WORKAROUND: Install the package "laptop-
/etc/default/
write or copy the following lines at the end:
# Switch to laptop-mode on battery power - off by default as it causes odd
# Hangs on some machines
ENABLE_LAPTOP_MODE = true
Then change the Laptop-Mode on Battery in:
/etc/laptop-
to 1:
ENABLE_
Restart the computer and it should work.
