Actually, seems I was seeing a different bug in comment #86 (probably from wireless connection).
I just installed 2.6.35 from the kernel PPA and tried wow. Getting a crash every time. The crash here though is caught by WoW, so I get a WoW error box, asking to submit a report, etc.
The crash I was getting in 2.6.32 was in wine, with a backtrace (not juicy at all, no signals).
So yeah, this bug is definitely kernel dependent, as the patch in comment #84 would indicate.
