I think I might have an answer on that. I gave it some thought.
Perhaps this is processor+kernel specific (and perhaps requiring the SC2 patch as a result - but all processor families require a kernel <= 2.6.32). I noticed a number of folks with issues tend to be in the AMD family (myself included).
That may indicate why the SC2 patch works for some but not others. It might be helpful for everyone who has _not_ already done so to include a "uname -a" in their bug reports.
Perhaps we can continue to refine the affected systems so the developers know where to start. :)
