Interesting find for those who are working on the issue.
Ubuntu 10 64
Kernel 2.6.32-22
Wine 1.1.42
I had been experiencing the fatal exception error on log-in intermittently. As I was working with updating my add-ons, recreating my WTF folder, etc sometimes I would get the error, other times not.
What I have found as a temporary work-around, that works every time for me is: If I get the error, first I use the system administration to ensure the wow.exe process is killed, then I delete the contents of the world of warcraft/cache folder. its usually another folder named WDB that I delete. Once deleted I can log in fine without the error message. Something is getting saved in that WDB folder that is causing the crash but I don't have a clue what.
Basically after every successful login I have to delete the WDB folder in the cache otherwise I will get the fatal exception error.
