With Karmic, neither one worked:
2.6.32-19
2.6.32-19 (v1)
2.6.32-19 (v2)

They all halt during boot, preety much the same way as with Lucid CD and
2.6.32-16

I will try to test with a Lucid install today. Will also try
2.6.34-rc3-karmic/
