Comment 2 for bug 515191

This may be fixed by updating to a newer version of libgphoto2. The version in an up to date Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron is libgphoto2 2.4.0-8ubuntu8. According to http://gphoto.sourceforge.net/news/ support for the Canon EOS 450D was added in libgphoto2 2.4.2. libgphoto2 2.4.2-0ubuntu2 is included in Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex, with an update to 2.4.2-0ubuntu3 available. There is a Jaunty 2.4.2-0ubuntu5 package in the PPA available at https://launchpad.net/~mrooney/+archive/ppa but I'm not sure if it will apply to Hardy.
