Despite apparently being for a slightly different chipset, this driver enabled the RTL8191SE card in my ThinkPad R400 - or at least it detects local networks, all of which are secured (I use wired ethernet at home, and so haven't been able to test connectivity with this driver yet). This is the only solution I've found so far that shows any promise, after failed attempts at ndiswrapper. iwconfig finds it, which is a first.
