For me, today, in Lucid, with kernel.. Linux 2.6.32-22-generic #33-Ubuntu SMP Wed Apr 28 13:28:05 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I'm not having problems using this wlan.
Drivers are defaults from lucid, i did't touch something.
In karmic i had to compile and build rtl8192se_linux_xxx_64bit.tar.gz .

I have been running this machine (default Lucid install) , for 4 - 5 days without stop (no more hangs). So i think this problem is solved in lucid ...
