installed : ADI SoundMAX HD Audio Driver for Microsoft Vista downloaded package from HP
vista o/s
- works fine with skype
*does not work with JING http://www.jingproject.com/
*does not work with MS sound recorder

HP has a forum and they mentioned the mic:
