Hy.
I also have a Toshiba Tecra A10 - 11J and have freshly installed Ubuntu.
Have no sound. Tried to modify on:

/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

to add the line:

options snd-hda-intel model=toshiba

as mentioned but I have no right to make any change.
Plz help.
