Comment 38 for bug 334249

I have a silly question: I only added the i8042 options directly to the menu entry of a specific kernel version. And I did not add these options to the kopt entry. And so I did no "sudo update-grub" after all. Is this a wrong procedure? And is it necessary that I do the "sudo update-grub" even if I did not change the kopt property?
So mybe my comments concerning this issue are waste?
