I can confirm that the HP 2.0mp webcam is already working on 9.10 Alpha 4 (aug 22, 2009 build)DESKTOP . I'm using an acer aspire one 8gb ssd 110. Both internal(AAO) and HP 2.0MP webcam works on CHEESE.

if you need more info. please let me know hot to do it. I'm basically just relying on gui. I'm not that good on command line.
