My Machine: Laptop HP 6730b Platform: Ubuntu 8.10 (using AlSA for sound) Problem: Sound comes only in headphones, but not through laptop speakers
I tried to repeat the above steps, but couldnt proceed after below step
To check the model of the sound card, I run the below cmd in the terminal >head -n 1 /proc/asound/card0/codec*
Result: ==> /proc/asound/card0/codec#0 <== Codec: Analog Devices ID 194a
==> /proc/asound/card0/codec#1 <== Codec: Generic 11c1 ID 1040
Now can you tell me, how to identify the model?
Without knowing the model i tried to edit below files >/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base >/etc/modprobe.d/options
by trying >options snd-hda-intel model=mobile >options snd-hda-intel model=laptop
Now how to proceed.. I am really stuck, will be great if somebody provide me a soltion
