Workaround works great until kde power applet is loaded (and no brightness level reported). Then adjustment only works if I press keys once in several seconds, I.e. pressing FN-down three times in row has effect of only single press, (if I keep pressing, presses will only take effect once in several seconds), although brightness level is reported on screen.
