Same problem but INTERMITTENT, on 1st boot following fresh bare install of 8.04 (2.6.24-16-server) on Q6600 with 8GB. When it drops me into shell I enter bash, exit, ls, etc. -- then Alt-Ctrl-Del. Sometimes I do this 2..4 times, then it sails right past to the login prompt.

I don't need this boot enhancment. How can I deactivate it?
