I installed Jaunty first on my HP TouchSmart 300Z computer and only got sound from my headphones. I followed so many stories regarding fixes for this issue and none of them were successful. I do appreciate all the hard work but most of the bugs reported are for sound on laptops. This is one of those all-in-one PCs. It uses the snd-hda-intel driver for sound. Here is some more output on what I have:
Codec: Analog Devices AD1984A
jt@jt-desktop:/proc/asound/card0$ aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: SB [HDA ATI SB], device 0: AD198x Analog [AD198x Analog]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: SB [HDA ATI SB], device 1: AD198x Digital [AD198x Digital]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
I recently installed the latest Karmic build and the same issue exists. I would really love to get this working as Ubuntu is a slick Linux offering. Especially like the compizconfig stuff.
