'uname -r' will indeed show the same output, however with 'uname -a' you should see something like:
$ uname -a Linux autopkgtest 5.4.0-59-generic #65+lp1909005 SMP Wed Jan 6 08:40:53 UTC 2021 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
