Thanks for the feedback. The kernel posted in comment #41 was the first of a series needed for the reverse bisect. There will be about 7 in total.

I built the next test kernel, up to the following commit:

Can you test that kernel and report back if it has the bug or not? I will build the next test kernel based on your test results.
