I'm having still (06/2018, Ubuntu 18.04, latest linux-firmware) the issue with the crashing ath10k_pci firmware, mostly after the laptop goes to suspend mode.

My workaround currently is restarting it via:

    sudo rmmod ath10k_pci
    sudo modprobe ath10k_pci
    sudo ifup -a
