HI Joseph:
This was a clean install of 16.04.
Although it isn't related, but worth noting, I upgraded the RAM from 3Gb to
4GB. I also replaced the failing HDD on the laptop.
I have performed four format and re-installs of 16.04.
I'm at the point now that the boot files are corrupted. I can sign in, the
screen goes black after login with just the cursor visable.
