Strange raphael, I also have a Dell Inspiron 5537 and all works with Mainline Kernel 4.4.9. I can suspend and hibernate lots of times with no problem!?!?
I think is related to ati radeon graphis card! I don't need it so I turn it off in /etc/rc.local with the command "echo "OFF" > /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch".
If it's Your case try it and see if works for you.
