1. Original bug was where the graphics would normally work but every so often the screen would be corrupted with horizontal lines of junk.
After much research I found a primitive fix for that:- * edit /etc/default/grub to add nomodeset to the GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX * sudo update-grub * reboot
2. Now the system will only allow VGA 640x480 graphics
This is occurring on an Intel 829845G/GZ chipset
