Ubuntuser, bug heat, and how many people mark themselves affected is irrelevant, as the same symptom can manifest itself via different root causes, and hardware. Anyone who thinks they may have the same problem would need to file a new report, or risk waiting for a fix to a problem that wasn't theirs to begin with.

If you want your problem addressed, you already have been advised on what needs to happen next. Having a production laptop means if you are that worried, backing up your data, which you should be doing anyways, and testing the patch.
