It probably happens while tying in the URL bar because you frequently type in the URL bar. Not the cause of the problem, just coincidence.

I installed Fedora yesterday and got a freeze within minutes with it too.

As a last resort, I might have to install XP.

I'm glad to see bug heat is rising on this, maybe it will get some attention and be fixed.

Either that or I have bad hardware and nothing can be done at all :(
