Btw. I did not experience it on the previous LTS, which shipped with 2.6.x kernel. This feature arrived with kernel from the latest LTS.
Please search for kernel panics in kern.log.
This is almost certainly a kernel bug, not browser, not X (although this one segfaults from time to time as well - a separate problem).
