This issue occurs with 12.04, 12.10, and 13.04 (daily build from 2/21.2013.)

Realizing it's not "on topic" it also occurs with gparted, Knoppix, Linux Mint 13, Fedora; nothing I've tried Linux works beyond this point.

Will run apport in a few moments.
