pdecat, thank you for providing the requested information. Regarding your Bug Description:

As the device identifies itself as a RTL8188CUS, have you tried the upstream Realtek driver version 3.4.4_4749 from http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=21&PFid=48&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false&Downloads=true#2742 ?
