Bug Description
I'm using an Asus N56VM notebook with Ubuntu 12.04 and have tried to attach my wireless mouse. All ports are usb 3.0. The mouse has connected once or twice, but i haven't been able to get ubuntu to recognise it at all today. Incidentally it does work on my mac-mini also running ubuntu 12.04.

I just linked an upstream kernel bug about the same exact receiver not working in a USB 3.0 port, but it does work in a USB 2.0 port. This looks like the same exact issue that you're having.
