lately the behaviour has changed. When I turn on my laptop yesterday, on battery CPUs run on powersave, on AC, it runs on performance.
I don't like having my laptop run on performance even though it is plugged. This behaviour can be changed through gnome-power-preferences
(haven't found a way to configure this by end) what I've found out it that a non privilege user can also change the cpu frequency mode
