Anders, I don't think it makes much of a difference. I just assumed it from your boot log - on my system, the SATA drives on the Intel controller are detected as sda, sdb etc., and your system wanted to boot /dev/hda1.

But obviously, it doesn't make much of a difference - whether you try to boot from the JMicron chip or from the Intel ICH8R, the kernel hangs during or directly after initializing the JMB36x controller. And this now happens with the *installed* system only, not with the live kernel that is used for the installation process.

Let's hope the kernel package that is put onto the HDD ist patched soon as well...
