Binary package hint: kernel-image-2.6.17-6-386-di

On all 2.6.17 and below kernels, the JMicron JMB363 controller, found on the ASUS P5B motherboard, does not work. As a result, the Ubuntu Live CD will not boot (unable to mount root partition on the CD) and the Ubuntu Install CD cannot mount itself. The 2.6.18 kernel (which is still in beta as of August 23, 2006) incorporates a fix for this problem. To fix this problem on 2.6.17, a patch could be used.
