<Kamion> mjg59: I don't know of a reason that would happen; but that stuff is
mostly the responsibility of hotplug these days, not of the installer itself

<Kamion> my inclination would be to boot the install CD with init=/bin/sh, 'nano
/etc/hotplug/hotplug.functions', uncomment the DEBUG= line near the top, 'exec
/sbin/init'
