I also have a Dell 1535 that has been affected by this bug, but last night I built the patched driver from broadcom website (as dg explains above), and everything is 100% good now. I can suspend/resume over and over, multiple times, and NetworkManager keeps on associatin' :). I haven't experienced any freezes yet.
I added wl to the list of DISABLED_MODULES in /etc/default/linux-restricted-modules-common, tossed my new wl.ko in /lib/modules/`uname -r`/ somewhere, ran depmod -a, rebooted, and everything was dandy.
