Installed Jaunty. With all updates applied as of 2003-09-23, problem persists. Kernel panics when connecting to WAP using WPA2 and AES.

Possible light at end of tunnel: Intrepid panic freezes were total or near total - mouse would move, could move from vt to vt using ctrl-alt-fX, but system did not respond in any other way. With Jaunty, could go to vt, login (system accepted userid and password) but never reach shell (since no new processes could start).
