I've just realized that I'm in fact not using the normal 386 build, but the special lpia-architecture used in the netbook remix. So now I'm wondering if I should file a separate bug report for the netbook remix or if somebody could mark the netbook-remix as being also affected by this issue. (I installed my system by booting from a USB key loaded with the current Canonical-provided UNR-image: http://oem-images.canonical.com/unr/unr-1.0.1.img)

Is it normal that the Broadcom module (/lib/modules/2.6.24-19-lpia/volatile/wl.ko)
doesn't belong to any package (as per dpkg -S)?

Are there any updated packages for lpia that I have overlooked?

What would be needed to compile a newer version of the module myself? (I'm relatively new to Ubuntu, but occasionally applied patches & compiled the kernel on my Gentoo boxes.)

I'm sorry if some of this shouldn't belong here, I'm slightly confused by the hundreds of intertwined projects and the various package and distribution versions.

Anyway, thanks a lot for taking care of this issue!
