The 'fix' detailed at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/194851/comments/37 works for me also. Don't know if there are any unwanted side-effects of doing this yet, though... It does highlight that the way libwfb.so is redirected by nvidia-glx is a bit irritating, there's no way of diverting that file without forcibly overwriting files, at least not that I could figure out. If multiple packages can provide this file, shouldn't it be handled by update-alternatives?
