well... ;-/... it works when I reboot now so the issue seems to have gone away. At this point I think the best thing I can do is do a clean reinstall and see if the problem happens again and take it from there.
I'm attaching the dmesg output anyway. I will do a clean reinstall soon from the daily cd build of the day and see how it goes. Will update the bug when I do this.
