It still doesn't work for me.
lightdm is updated to 1.01-0ubuntu6, kernel is 3.0.0.12.
My grapĥic card is an i945 (i915 graphic module)

When I run compiz --replace, I get:
compiz Error: GL_ARB_vertex_buffer_object not supported
