juppy, thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. This bug is reproducible in Ubuntu 10.10 LibreOffice Impress at the Terminal:

cd ~/Desktop && https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/577272/+attachment/1401809/+files/example%20file.odp && loimpress -nologo example\ file.odp

File -> Save as -> File type: Microsoft PowerPoint 97/2000/XP (.ppt) -> Save button -> Keep Current Format button

Close the file then open the .ppt file just created at the Terminal:

loimpress -nologo example\ file.ppt

notice how the text at the bottom got bigger and moved to the left.
