Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org
Binary package hint: libreoffice

1) lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu Natty (development branch)
Release: 11.04

2) apt-cache policy libreoffice-impress
libreoffice-impress:
  Installed: 1:3.3.1-1ubuntu5
  Candidate: 1:3.3.1-1ubuntu5
  Version table:
 *** 1:3.3.1-1ubuntu5 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ natty/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) What is expected is when one performs at the Terminal:

cd ~/Desktop && wget https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/577272/+attachment/1401809/+files/example%20file.odp && loimpress -nologo example\ file.odp

File -> Save as -> File type: Microsoft PowerPoint 97/2000/XP (.ppt) -> Save button -> Keep Current Format button

Close the file then open the .ppt file just created at the Terminal:

loimpress -nologo example\ file.ppt

the text is exactly as it was in the .odp format.

4) What happens instead is in the .ppt file the text at the bottom got bigger and moved to the left.

Reporter comments: The master slide footer font is Times New Roman 24pt, in a file opened that previously had Arial 16pt configured. Modifying font style/size of footer on master slide works until file is closed. When reopened, footer font is reset to Times New Roman 24pt. (I believe Impress3.1/Ubuntu9.04 was OK.)

Possible .ppt file problem only - if .ppt file is opened and modified and saved as .odp, all seems to be OK.

Chris, pls see attached, same file saved in odp and ppt formats. odp
opens with footer text from master slide correctly formatted, ppt doesn't.

Regards
Richard

[This is an automated message.]
There are no new official OpenOffice.org releases in Ubuntu packaging anymore => Won't Fix

If the problem persists, please mark this bug as "also affects project Libreoffice" or "also affects distribution Libreoffice (Ubuntu)" if that has not happened already.

Please leave references to upstream OpenOffice.org bugs in place to allow cross pollination.

juppy, the issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers of the software by following the instructions at http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport . If you have done so, please tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Save and open the file in the link of the bug report
2
. Save it as a ppt file
3. Close the file
4. Open the ppt file and compare it with the odp file

Result: The footer font is changed and enlarged in the ppt file. It is no longer Arial 16 but now Times New Roman 24 (to check: go to VIEW -> MASTER -> SLIDE MASTER).
