I should say that when mounting, I get errors in dmesg:
[ 360.669425] attempt to access beyond end of device
[ 360.669455] sdb: rw=0, want=2012160, limit=2012159
but they appear to be non-fatal. I did read somewhere that the camera has an off-by-one bug when formatting SD cards, so this may simply be a manifestation of that.
