Bug Description

Camera is Panasonic fz28
kern log is as follows

Error initialising camera: -1: Unspecified error
Using Interpid Ibex on HP Pavilion laptop.
No such problem until upgraded from Hardy

I can confirm this. I have exactly same camera, so don't know if this affects other models too.

If I stop hal, I can mount the camera by hand ("mount /dev/sda1 /mnt").

I can also mount the camera automatically if I remove all references to Panasonic cameras from /usr/share/hal/fdi/preprobe/10osvendor/20-libgphoto2.fdi . After this removal, the camera is recognized as a generic USB device.

I should say that when mounting, I get errors in dmesg:

[ 360.669425] attempt to access beyond end of device
[ 360.669455] sdb: rw=0, want=2012160, limit=2012159

but they appear to be non-fatal. I did read somewhere that the camera has an off-by-one bug when formatting SD cards, so this may simply be a manifestation of that.
