Just to confirm this bug:
2.6.15-23-686
on an Intel Centrino (Samsung X50 laptop, Intel ICH6 sata controller)

Breezy's 2.6.12 kernel worked fine, but Dapper's kernel always hangs at boot at the "waiting for root filesystem" bit.

Even worse, installing the Dapper kernel seems to corrupt the system so that the Breezy kernel no longer boots (Seg faults at boot).
