Same here, just installed Ubuntu Karmic Koala, default (64bit) install, only changed back to pidgin from empathy...
It says the following when I change my status using the indicator-applet-session and then bring up the pidgin main window:

"Welcome back!
1 account was disabled because you signed on from another location:
<account name>"

With a button to re-enable, which just works fine, but it's annoying nevertheless. This does not happen when I change my status from within Pidgin.
Versions I have installed according to Synaptic:

indicator-applet: 0.2.0-0ubuntu2
indicator-session: 0.1.7-0ubuntu3
indicator-applet-session: 0.2.0-0ubuntu2

Another issue I'm having is that the wrong status icon is displayed next to my username in the top-right corner when I set my status using either the indicator-applet-session or Pidgin itself to "Invisible". The "Busy" icon is then always displayed, although sometimes I can see it changing to the correct invisible icon first and then after a split-second changing to the "Away"-icon. The correct status is set in Pidgin, but the wrong status-icon is displayed.
