Now waiting for an actual crash. It happens so randomly with me it may be a while. If you want to help here are the steps I have taken so far:
Added to /etc/apt/sources.list deb http://ddebs.ubuntu.com intrepid main universe
sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install libc6-dbgsym libglib2.0-0-dbgsym gvfs-dbgsym gvfs-backends-dbgsym libgvfscommon0-dbgsym
then create script as per: #!/bin/sh
G_SLICE=always-malloc G_DEBUG=gc-friendly valgrind -v --tool=memcheck --leak-check=full --num-callers=40 --log-file=/tmp/valgrind.log /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd-trash-debug
