Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

Found so far in Lucid 10.4 version.

To reproduce it:

1. Select an icon from the desktop.
2. Right click and select properties option.
3. Press current icon in order to choose a new icon.
4. Navigate to a folder containing several image files using the file browser popup that just showed up
5. Press the column "Modified" to sort the files by that type.
6. Try to select a file from the list and it's not possible, the selected file always remain the file that was previously selected before sorting by "Modified" column.

I've noticed and I can reproduce always this behavior while performing the steps above or as well while trying to select files to upload while using Firefox.

Note: If i after select another column to sort the files (Size or Name) it allows again to select a file.

$dpkg -l nautilus

Seems like this one needs to be re-assigned to the gtk+2.0 package.

Still experiencing this issue on gtk+2.0 version 2.20.1-0ubuntu2 under Lucid 10.04.1

To reproduce just open a file chooser with any app (e.g. Firefox, go to File -> Open File), navigate to a folder containing some files and folders, and click the "Modified" column to sort the files. The files/folders on the list now cannot be selected with a single click.
Double clicking a folder does not select it, but still seems to navigate down to that folder in the file chooser. Double clicking a file opens a different file or navigates to a different folder.

Looks like this bug made it to maverick.
It also happens when sorting by filename by clicking on the "Name" column header as well, I didn't notice that at first.

This bug is fixed in Maverick, but not in Lucid LTS.

Tired of waiting for a fix for the LTS, I found the patch and recompiled libgtk2.0-0_2.20.1-0ubuntu2.

Get the sources for libgtk2.0 via "apt-get source", apply the patch available here:
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/commits-list/2010-June/msg09431.html

Then recompile and install it with "dpkg -i".
