Jeff Revesz (kingmobwashere) wrote : grub2 installation fails on HP Envy 17 - crashes entire install

Installation Failure on HP Envy 17. Full wipe and clean install.

Version: 1:9.8.1.dfsg.P1-4ubuntu0.2

Expected To Happen: Installation would complete successfully.

What Happened Instead:

Installation failed on grub bootloader install. Says that grub cannot install to the specified directory.

After grub installation fails, a popup box appears with various alternative installation locations like /boot/RAID-0-xxxxx

The dropdown box allows you to select an option, but it is impossible to hit OK so you can never get past this step.
