Test case:
Fresh install
Try to play any file requiring one or more gst plugins

What happens:
pop up informs plugin(s) missing, offers to 'find in software'
Clicking on that option fails

Ex.
totem /home/doug/Videos/bbb_sunflower_1080p_30fps_normal.mp4
